Affektiewe en kulturele faktore by die verwerwingvan Afrikaans as 'n tweede taal deur Swartvolwasse leerders in Suid-Afrika
Abstract
Hierdie artikel oorweeg die rol van affektiewe en kulturele faktore in die verwerwing van 'n tweede taal. Faktore soos motivering en die gesindhede en emosionele toestande van leerders word bespreek op grond van 'n in-diepte literatuurstudie. Schumann se Akkulturasie-model word van nader beskou om die moontlike toepassing daarvan in die Suid-Afrikaanse konteks te evalueer. Die artikel sluit met 'n beskrywing van die praktiese implikasies van hierdie faktore in die vorm van 'n lesmodule vir swart volwasse leerders van Afrikaans as 'n tweede taal, wat gebruik maak van kultuurverskynsels.This article considers the role of affective and cultural factors in the acquisition of a second ranguage. Factors such as motivation and the attitudes and emotional states of learners are iiscussed on the basis of an in-depth literature study. Schumann's Acculturation Model is '1nalysed from the point of view of its possible relevance to the South African context. The article ~loses with a description of a lesson module using aspects of different cultures, which was 'Jresented to black adult learners of Afrikaans as a second language.Downloads
