Die bantering van daar-interferensie in die Duits van Afrikaansmoedertaliges

Emerencia C. Steyn

Abstract

A comparison of sentence constructions in the soundtracks (simulcast) of some television
programmes indicates a general lack of a German equivalent for the multiple use of the
A.frikaans daar. This naturally results in interference in the usage of German by
A.frikaans speaking students, as they are inclined to construct their German sentences in
accordance with the A.frikaans equivalents. This problem is mainly illustrated in either
the erroneous use of a da or an inappropriate es gibt. Various exercises are submitted,
aimed at obviating such errors of interference which are mainly noticeable in the spoken
·language.
Soos blyk uit 'n vergelyking van segslryses in die parallelle klankbane van enkele
televisieprogramme, het die veelvuldige gebruik van die Afrikaanse woord daar
gewoonlik geen ekwivalensie in Duits nie. Dit lei maklik tot interferensie in die Duits van
Afrikaansmoedertalige studente, omdat hulle daartoe neig om hul Duitse sinne soos die
in A.frikaans te konstrueer. Hierdie probleem word hoofsaaklik in die foutiewe gebruik
van da geopenbaar; soms egter ook in 'n misplaaste es gibt. Verskeie oefeninge word
aan die hand gedoen om sulke interferensiefoute, wat vera! in m(mdelinge werk opduik,
te bekamp.
